Bioequivalence

Another concept under the heading of absorption that needs further explanation is bioequivalence. Bioequivalence of a drug is determined by comparing the bioavailability of the same drug given in the same dosage form by the same route to the same subject under the same conditions at different times.

There is a specific regulatory measuring for bioequivalence and that is "Bioavailability may not differ by more than 20% for a dosage form to be considered bioequivalent."
